Thanksgiving and the Holidays are soon upon us. What does that mean to all of us though? For me it has always meant a time to be with family eating turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes as well as everyone from out of town staying and visiting and getting caught up on everything that has happened in the past year. For the kids its an exciting time as they know presents arrive in December. The fun and joy of tearing off sheets of wrapping paper to discover something theyve always wanted.
Something that comes from the holidays may also include guests in the form of family and friends who may travel quite far to be with everyone. It may be for just a week or two but if you have an extra room you may want to convert it into a bedroom for the purpose of guests rather than your holiday guests staying at hotels for several weeks. So the first thing to consider is choosing a bed for your guest room.
Guest rooms may only see visitors a couple weeks out of every year or may see occasional use from collegiate students returning home for the summer or many other uses. Tailoring your guest room to fit the needs of who may be using it is something to consider when setting the room up.
Who will be using the room? If you have couples staying with you youll likely want to choose a larger bed for the space. Beds for adults are usually full, queen and king sizes. A king size bed is likely quite large for most spare bedrooms so you will want to consider a queen or full size bed. Full size beds are available in extra long sizes which make them the same length as a queen bed but with less width. If its your son or daughter coming home from college, then perhaps a twin, full or extra long bed could be used in the space if the room isnt large. The bed size that seems to be the most versatile are full extra long and queen sizes.
What design of bed should you choose? Believe it or not beds come in a wide variety of designs to meet the needs of specific bedroom dbr
